Adoption Counts is a collaborative adoption agency formed in 2017, bringing the professional expertise and specialist skills of five local authorities from across Greater Manchester and Cheshire together to deliver adoption services of the highest quality. We work with families in Cheshire East, Manchester, Salford, Stockport, and Trafford - the scale of our organization means that we are able to forge better matches between parents and children, to create relationships that last. We welcome enquiries from in or around the region. Adopting a child is a transformative and exciting experience, but we understand that it can be daunting at times. Rest assured, we will be by your side through everything, guiding you through the process from the moment you enquire to the day your child joins your family and beyond.

We are a new service bringing together experts from Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council to help children waiting to be adopted find a loving family and we are on hand to support you throughout the adoption process. Adoption Matters is a children’s charity and one of the largest voluntary adoption agencies in the UK, established in 1947. We recruit, train and prepare individuals and couples to adopt and offer them ongoing support and development throughout the adoption process and for as long as they need it. Adoption Matters is the ONLY voluntary adoption agency in the North of England to be rated Outstanding by Ofsted 4 times in a row, since 2007. We strive to ensure equality of opportunity, both for our adoptive families and amongst our staff and Trustees regardless of gender, race, religion, culture, heritage, age, disability or sexuality. We are experienced in assessing and matching adopters of all faiths and those who have none. In 2014, we partnered with Home for Good to encourage more Christian families and faith communities to think about adoption.

Adoption in Merseyside is the regional adoption agency for Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral. The four local authorities combined in April 2018 and the service consists of assessment, recruitment, family finding and adoption support. The recruitment, assessment and family finding team have a wealth of experience in adoption and pride themselves in finding loving and stable homes for children in Merseyside and across the UK. We welcome enquiries from a range of people regardless of their gender, sexuality, and ethnicity and we are particularly keen to welcome enquiries from BAME communities. We support adopters from the very first initial enquiry all the way through to placing a child into the adopters home. Our adoption support team are available to adoptive families even after the child is placed up until that child turns into an adult. The team can assess what extra support is needed including therapeutic services.

We are Adoption Now, the regional adoption agency for Blackburn with Darwen, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside. In 2017 we brought our combined years of experience and expertise together to deliver adoption services on behalf of these 6 local authorities. As an agency we are extremely passionate about putting our children first and at the heart of all we do, so by doing this it means that we successfully place around 180 children from the North West of England every year and we are able to provide hugely effective support to our families to enable them to achieve their dream of becoming parents. To be an adopter with Adoption Now you don't have to live in our local authority areas, if you live anywhere in the North West we would love you to consider adopting with our agency and we'll be with you every step of the way.

Caritas Care

Our Adoption service covers the whole of the North West including; Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cumbria and parts of Yorkshire and Scotland including the Dumfries area.

Caritas Care is an established independent adoption agency, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in ALL areas. For over 80 years we’ve been finding families for children and helping adopters to become parents. We pride ourselves on the open, friendly and caring service our social workers provide. We welcome enquiries from adopters irrespective of age, gender, ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation or disability. The needs of the children waiting for adoption are diverse and we strive to find adopters who can meet their needs. Our promise is that we are there for our adopters from initial contact to whenever, or for as long as needed. All our adoptive parents and their children have access to on-going and comprehensive support from our Adoption Support Service delivered by our highly skilled and experienced Social Workers. Our mission is that all of our families have chances, choices and opportunities to live the best lives they can, and with our support, we make that possible.

Together for Adoption is a regional adoption agency providing support for those looking to start their adoption journey from Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, St Helens, Warrington, Wigan and surrounding areas.

Together for Adoption is a regional adoption agency made up of five Local Authorities - Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan.
